I’ve set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), but I’ve lost or changed my device. How can I log in?

Modified on Thu, 8 Sep, 2022 at 1:30 AM

With two-factor authentication set up, there are two steps involved in logging in:

  1. Enter the existing username and password combination
  2. Enter the code generated via an authenticator application on a smartphone or tablet

How can I log in if I have temporarily lost access to my device?

If there is a temporary issue accessing the authenticator application used during the 2FA set up, there is the option to request a login code via email.  This can be done by clicking the link “Send code via Email” after entering your username and password combination:

Do not close or refresh the browser after requesting this code.  A code will be generated and sent to your registered email address.  Enter this code in the screen above and click “Verify”.  The login will be completed, and the Dashboard will be displayed.

NB. The email code will expire after 2 minutes.

How can I log in if I have permanently lost / changed my device?

If the device used to set up the two-factor authentication is permanently inaccessible the 2FA can be reset via “Your Profile” within the ATEB Suitability application.  To do this, follow the instructions in “How can I log in if I have temporarily lost access to my device?” article to log into ATEB Suitability.  After logging in and the dashboard is displayed, click on the username at the top of the screen:

Within the “Your Profile” screen there is a section at the bottom of the page that shows the two-factor authentication status.  Click on the Reset link:

Click remove on the confirmation screen:
